I wanted to share with you some photos from my shower in the States, held on September 4th. The theme for the event was "Welcome Sweetie".
The shower was held at the church I grew up in - and later was married in. Seemed very "full circle" to me.
My sisters made this darling pom pom tissue balls inspired by Martha Stewart. I just loved them and wanted to take some home to hang in the nursery. But hindsight is 20/20 and now I realize they would be a crushed mess in our home renovation.
My brother-n-law even helped in setting up the decor. He was great at putting up the pom poms.

The prizes for those who won the games. Thank goodness they didn't play that terrible game where people have to guess how big around the pregnant mom is. I would have walked right out. :)
Instead, one of the games played was the "Price Is Right". Lucky me, I got to take all of the game items home!
The cake. It was made by a woman who is well into her 80's. She makes the most delicious cake and the frosting is unlike any I've ever had in my life. The cakes she makes are a-maze-ing. She even made our wedding cake!

Yum! There was vegetable pizza; cheese, crackers and pepperoni; fruit salad, cookies, cake, and this other really delish strawberry cheesecake type dessert.
My beautiful sisters and I. They, along with my mom did such a wonderful job putting the shower together. I was so incredibly blessed. Aubrey received some wonderful gifts. And it was so great to see some of my friends and family. Some friends I hadn't seen since my wedding almost three years ago!

Oh.. did you bring back some memories.. I loved my showers.. they are so fun and get you really thinking.."I'm going to have a baby"... how wonderful for you to spend it with your family.
