A Holiday Tour

Welcome to my home! Please enjoy a cup of cocoa as I take you on a little home tour of our holiday decor. (I apologize as some of the photos are not of the greatest quality. Yeah, I'm soo not a photographer.)

Welcome!

A few little trees that greet you at the front door.

Garland. I tore some branches from our pine trees and layed them along this ledge. I then added some gold glittery ting, faux red berries and the glittery candycanes.

Our pantry.

A few friendly faces.

Some canisters on top of the fridge.

I filled this vase with some jingle bells from the Dollar Tree, tied the ribbon that came from the jingle bell packaging around the vase and set on top of a little candle plate. The penguin figurine is a gift from my father-in-law last Christmas. I love love love penguins!

Our kitchen table. The quilted peice is from my mom. I filled the bowl with some of my cookie cutters. The star holders are filled with rose hips and cinnamon sticks. They will get taper candles in them later and will perhaps decorate our Christmas table.

This wreath was something that my mom, sisters and I made last year. The hanger was just perfect. My mum-in-law gave it to me the other day.

I purchased the wreath in October at the Dollar Tree. I then sprayed some of that spray faux snow on it. Added the ribbon bow and the sparkley 'Believe' ortament. This is one of my favorite decorations.

A mini-tree in our bathroom. It is decorated in mini-decorations that I have collected throughout the years - including some from when I was little. If you enlarge the photo (by clicking on it) you can see a button strung on with some thread. There is also a mini basket tied on with a pretty red ribbon as well as a little jingle bell. They are ortaments that my mom made for me when I was young to decorate mini-trees in my bedroom. The penguin ortaments are my most recent purchase. Told you I loved them. :)

One of the bookshelves in our living room. (Yes, I still need to add a photo of my real family in the bottom of the frame. What can I say? I procrastinate.)

Another bookshelf. I was really into snowflakes this year. I grabbed mine from the dollar store.

Our sofa table. Again...I need to enlarge wedding photo still. (I do have white...not black...trim around my windows. That is just the tape that is holding the plastic on our drafty windows.)

Another mini-tree. The star ortaments were a gift in my stocking...I think last year.

Our couches. My mom stitched the quilt and the snowman pillow for me.

The mantel in the living room. I just had a thing for snowflakes and faux snow this year. The whole garland (garland, snow, and picks) came from the dollar store. So did the mini-wreath hanging with the skates. The skates and wreath holder were from the thrift store.

I just need a dowl rod for this baby. Isn't it wonderful? Of course my mom made it! She brought it up when they came to visit this past August. I just love the candycanes!

The real reason for the season.

And finally, our tree! (Boy is it hard to photograph a Christmas tree!) The last photo is of our tree skirt. Guess who made it? Mom! And it's perfect.

Thank you for stopping by! I will have some more photos later that will include our fire place, mantel and our garland.

You must have the greatest Mom to do all that sewing and stitching for you! :) I love your idea of rose hips in the star candle holders. I have those same holders but haven't used them in years. I am getting them out tonight!
