She Loves Me

Every year, my mom gets my sistes and me a Valentine. I can remember being a little girl and she had bought me a pencil with this little cute plastic bear on the top where the earaser would go. It was holding a red heart. I hung onto that bear for a looooong time. One year, we received a small silver heart that at this moment I wish I had a photo of for you. When I was away in Pittsburgh for school, my mom sent me a Valentines package with a batch of heart shaped cookies with pale pink frosting. You can bet I was everyones friend with those cookies! And then one year, my dad made each girl a thin, wooden, rustic heart washed red with paint. It was hung by a jute string. It now hangs above my bed. (I'm redoing my bedroom tomorrow so I'll have a pic of it this upcoming week to show you.)

So, the other day, I got a Valentine's package from mom. Inside was tucked some mail. But in that mail was a red envelope with a beautiful card. There were also two chocolate bars that she had covered with these pretty, vintage inspired labels. Shane plowed into his candy bar right away. He told me that I better eat mine quick or he would since it was so good. Having the Hershey plant a few hours away, you know you are getting some goooood chocolate. I savored every bite!

She loves me.

What a nice mom you have!!!
I find the air in Smith Falls smeeeelllls like chocolate. I don't know how anyone could stay on a diet that lives there!!! I went on the Hershey Plant tour once and it reminded me of the book Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. :O)

That is so sweet! I am blessed to have a wonderful Mom too. I can not imagine living close to the Hershey's plant. Girl, I'd be big as a house! I love my chocolate! Lately I'm addicted to dark chocolate, but I will eat it all. I hope you all have a wonderful V-day!

What a great mom! There must be things you miss about being so close. After my mom passed away I always missed getting my birthday card from her...so.. My birthday is coming up very soon and I kept my last card she gave me before she passed and I take it out every year to remind me of her and her love for me.. cherish every moment and enjoy the things she does for you.. your a very lucky girl. Happy Valentines day, from Maine and someone whose life you have touched.. blessings Mandi. Tracey
