Spring Cleaning My Blog

Hi friends! Happy Spring weather! It's finally beautiful here in Northern Ontario. You can get away without wearing a coat and it's finally so enjoyable to be outdoors. There is still a bit of residual snow and ice in some spots but for the most part, it's wonderful outdoors! Shane and I have been taking some time to clean up our yard - raking and removing dog "presents". We've cleaned out the garage and I'm working on some spring cleaning projects. I'm so excited that it's finally wonderful weather outside!

I just want to take a couple minutes to update you on what I've been up too...fill you in on some contests...and complete a few tags that I have been given. This is a sort of "spring cleaning" post. So let's get to it, eh?

First off...we have yet to have purchased a new vehicle. The insurance on a newer vehicle would kick our tails so we are reworking some things to try and lower that. One thing we are hoping to do is access my driver history and put me as the primary driver. We'll see what that does. I'm also this close to submitting my Permenant Residancy paperwork. I have one more background check to do online. Last week I had more fingerprints done here in Canada and as well as a background check for here as well. We had to travel to a border crossing (a few hours away) to renew my visa so at least I'm legal here in Canada for another year!

The biggest news coming our way is that we bought another dog! That makes three. He flew over from England on Wednesday and Shane and I drove to Toronto to pick him up. His name is Jake. Here are a couple of photos of my hubby and our little friends.

While in Toronto, we had the chance to go to a big ol' mall there. I took my time browsing through William Sanoma, Crate and Barrel and Pottery Barn. This PB had three levels!! I wanted to take photos of the displays but was afraid they would yell at me. Shame, I know. But I saw these really neat things...that just so happens that Homebody Holly blogged about recently. Wondering what I'm talking about? Head over to her blog. And you may just win her giveaway!! She's so kind! But hurry, you only have today at 6pm left.

I was tagged by Ruby at Ruby Two Shoes Design (check out that amazingly cute cards she makes!) tagged me to go to my 4th folder in my photos, choose my 4th picture and post it with some info all about it. So....

Unglamorous eh? That is the crawl space underneath of our house. And those are some old craft show signs. Hubby used to have to put those signs up around town advertising for the show. Now, there is a newer version of the sign but we are still stuck housing these bad boys. Why do I have this photo you ask? Well, I was taking photos of the water damage of our little flood from a few weeks ago.

Mrs. D Lightful (so many fun things going on at this blog!) also tagged me awhile back to do this similar tag, only I had to choose the seventh folder and the seventh photo. So....

This is positivly horrible! People, if I wasn't so honest, I would chosen a different photo. Unfortunatly, you get my hand with a rash! Haha, I broke out in this hideous rash the other day so I decided to photograph it for who knows why! I guess I was thinking if I happened to die or perhaps decide to sue a company (as if I would!) I would have proof. There you go, rash hand.

I think there are some more giveaways out there that I want to tell you about but at this second I can't remember! I'm going to go read all ya'll's blogs and then I may be back with some more contests. :) For now I'm sort of feeling lightheaded, so I'm heading off.

And just to let you know...I am in the process of writing a couple more fashion posts. So sorry for my absence lately and not being the best at keeping my blog up to date. You all are the best for bearing with me. Thanks so much!! -Mandi

Sounds like you've been busy. But I have to say it's hilarious hearing that you can go outside without a coat and then hearing there's still snow on the ground.LOL

Hey Mandi, life is hectic and we all understand that it's hard to keep up with this blogthing all the time. I am anxiously awaiting your next fashion post. I love the ones you did and can't wait for some more great ideas.
I can't believe you have 3 dogs. I can't even handle one. I have one cat, "Bully Boy", and that is about all I can handle. Your a brave woman!! It's finally warming up here in Maine too.. isn't it great to finally be able to get outdoors and enjoy yourself? I love it!! Have a good weekend and I'll talk soon..

Hi Mandi ~ Ugggghhh to Spring cleaning...for me right now it is taking EVERYTHING out of my refrig. and tossing all ~ because the refrig. died we didn't realize it until it is just too late to risk using ANYTHING in it! WHAT A MESS and not my idea of a good Saturday ;>(!! The weather in PA is gorgeous today, I want to go outside, not clean out a bunch of spoiled food in a refrig. You have a good weekend, enjoy that new puppy!

We've put our car buying on hold because my husband just doesn't want a car payment right now.

As a former insurance agent and new business underwriter, in the US, I wanted to comment on your statement regarding making you the primary driver on the car. It sounds like you have a better driving history. But, if he's going to generate more premium we would have put him on the car as an occasional driver.

That rash-hand picture is so funny - not that you had a rash, of course, but I just love your honesty ;)

Spring cleaning would be fun, in a weird way, but we have just moved into a bigger apartment and the previous tenants were NOT very clean at all. :( So, right now we're just trying to deal with cleaning up after them. Yuck! But it will be really nice when we're done. I'll be keeping my eyes open for more of your lovely fahsion and spring cleaning entries.

Don't wear yourself out with all of this work you've been doing! :D

Hi there! I wanted to come by and thank you personally for becoming a follower of my blog.

Your puppies are ADORABLE! James and I are big lovers of animals, with three dogs and two cats of our own. I don't want a life without animals. :)
