Spring Touches

Good gravy has it really been this long since I have updated my blog? Sheesh Louise. Well, in fairness, I've been pretty busy. I thought that things would slow down after the craft show, but I was wrong. Shane is still working 7-1o's which has left us little time together. And again, he's still got night school twice a week so again, rough. Our basement/crawl space under our house flooded the other day. We had to get a sump pump to get the water down. We were breathing a sigh of relief until this morning when we discovered a crack in the hose and more water in the basement than had been there the first time. Thankfully, Shane and my father-n-law are hero's and were able to take care of everything. Also, our truck broke down for the upteenth time this past week so we are actively looking for something new. We have our sights set on a Jeep Liberty down in Toronto. So that involves a little road trip. If you think of it, could you please pray for us in regards to this situation. We're really excited that hopefully this week we will have a new vehicle but definatly don't want to end up with some sort of lemon. Not that I'm complaining about all this .... stuff.... but this has been my life since I last blogged. :)

My sister-n-law, Sarah, and I are getting ready to do a craft show on May 9th. It's something new we are undertaking. After about a year of throwing around ideas to actually start a business in the craft show world, we finally have set ourselves up. We have a table booked and each night we are busying producing our wares. We are up to our eyeballs in wooden signs, wooden blocks and Scrabble tile necklaces. I'm also busy trying to get ready to open my own Etsy shop! I'm incredibly excited about all these little adventures but it sure hasn't left me much time to blog.

Since it's almost Easter and since it is officially Spring...though the snow the past few days would tell you otherwise...I wanted to show just a couple of touches I've done around my casa to welcome the season. I've just done a few things as I'm not really decorating too much. We are doing/planning for a number of house projects and it's just much easier to not have the decorations up only to have to take them back down. But anyways! Here are some of the things I've done.

I bought this bag of cute cloth wrapped balls and that adorable carrot at the craft show as well. Can you see the bunnies stamped onto the one ball? I just love these! When Easter is over, I'm just going to turn the bunnies away so no one can see them. I may still leave the carrot in there. It's too cute! The wicker balls I purchased at the Dollar Store.

This is my display by my kitchen sink. I bought myself this sweet plant. It has pink leaves! I mean, how perfect is that?? I've had it for a couple of weeks now and it's still looking good. I definatly don't have a green thumb so I'm trying really hard to take care of it.

I bought this birdie salt and pepper shakers from Target a few years ago. They are taking up residence on my baking goods canisters now.

And finally, this little bunnie is hanging on my pantry door. I just love him.

I hope that everyone has a great afternoon! Now I'm off to go catch up on some blog reading! ~M

Good for you! It is hard to take on something so big as a craft show, but I am sure you will do well! I would be intimidated to get all my crafts together in time...I hope you end up with time to spare! :)

Good luck with your craft shows and Etsy store. With all your sweet comments about my bunnies, you may have convinced me to open one eventually, just maybe. I love the Spring touches in your home. That covered ball with the bunnies is especially cute!
Sounds like you have been so busy! We had car trouble this past week too, had to get new brakes. Keep me posted on how the craft fair goes.

It was good to see a post from you tonight, I've missed ya girl. I am so sorry about the trouble with your basement and vehicle. I know how stressful those things can be - I will be praying.

Your spring decos are so cute. I can never think of cute springish things to decorate with. You may have given me some inspiration.

My you have been busy. Glad to hear all is well and my prayers will definetly be with you and your husband regarding your new vehicle. Opening an Esty store.. good for you!! I might be right behind you on that. My last day of work is May 1st and I might put all my efforts into crafting too. Love your display in your kitchen as well.. you have great taste and I know you will succeed in all you do!

What a week you've had. Good grief! Good luck on the truck purchase. AND...good luck crafting. Very brave. I don't have the courage to take on something like that so good for you.

Love your home decor. AND so sorry about our darn scanner, and not being able to get the pattern to you. My daughter is home today and she'll give it a try.
Have a great day.

Gracious girl...you've been busy! I pray the water situation is taken care of and I can't wait to hear how the craft show goes! I'll be praying for you and Shane as you decide what to do about a vehicle. The stress of a non-reliable vehicle is horrible! Last year, when our van was stolen and we had to find something else...it about killed us or should I say I about killed Rich! ;) We were already under a huge amount of stress, but that nearly did us in. So, I will totally be praying for y'all in the car shopping process.

love ya friend!
