I came home to find that my mom had mad me these cute firecrackers. Aren't they adorable? I'm inlove!
Here is a quick rundown of how to make them.
Supplies:
Dowel rod - I think this is a 3/4 inch rod
Saw
Drill
Jute string
Hot glue
Paint: cream, navy, red
Stain
Begin by cutting your dowl rod. Drill a hole in one end. Paint the ends of the dowel rod navy blue. Don't forget the bottom! Paint firecracker white with red stripes. Add stain to age the firecrackers. Add a dab of hot glue to the hole. Poke your jute string inside.
We are praying that the rain stays away today. My brother-n-law is having his 30th birthday party tonight at a baseball game. Jenn has boxed seats reserved for a huge crowd of us. We get a buffet dinner before the game, hats and all kinds of goodies. There will almost be 40 of us at the game! It's been raining nonstop though...we're praying things don't get canceled.
Did I mention that Shane and I came to PA for the weekend? I don't think I did! My mom, sisters and I have been antiquing! Oh we've got some good stuff! Can't wait to show you!
Hope everyone has a wonderful holiday tomorrow! The 4th of July is just one of my favorites!!

Hey Mandi, I finally mailed your package today! I sent it to PA so maybe you'll get it while you're there (how long are you staying?).
Hi Mandi, I love the firecrackers, I will show my hubby, he is the woodcrafter in the family :>)!! I am thankful that your trip to PA was safe, please have a great time with family (sorry PA is so wet these days), and praying for a safe return to Canada for you and your hubby!
Mandi, congrats on your new name and updated blog. I love the look and understand that we all change and grow and need to update as we go along. I love your firecrackers and think I'll make some for next year. They seem easy enough to make. Have a good day and blessings to you!
I totally thought you left blog land when I couldn't find you on my blog updates. Glad it was just because of the name change!
HOW CUTE!!!! And better yet, your mom made them for you! Thanks for sharing the tutorial.
Have a good day.
Sandra
