Do-Dad's From the Craft Show

Hello my friends! Sending love from one of my favorite states - Pennsylvania! As I mentioned in my last post, I am here helping my sister set up her nursery for my nephew. He's set to make his debut on October 31st. A Halloween baby! Though my sis and I haven't done anything yet in regards to the nursery (we start on Wednesday) we have been busy! Here's what we've been up to:

Friday night, my Mom, Dad, sisters Jenn and Julie and their hubbies Randy and Travis, and my neice Natalie, headed to one of our local fairs. I just love love love the fair. In high school, I entered into the fair queen pagent for our county and came in first runner-up. What a thrill! The queen and I had become good freinds and she insisted that I do all of the promotion with her. So I helped in handing out trophies to the winners of the tractor pulls and sat in the dunking booth. Visited vendors, got loads of free food (isn't fair food the best part?) and had my picture taken for the fair promo posters for the following year. What trip! I love the fair! And we are privelaged to have a total of four just in our vicinity.

The following day, Saturday, Mom, my sisters and mom's cousin Audrey, got in our cars and headed to a GIANT craft show...coincidently at another fair ground. This was one of the largest craft shows that I had ever been to. Vendors were set up all over outdoors as well as inside of the animal barns. The barns were named things like the "Moo Hotel" the "Udder Barn" and goofy names like that. So funny!

Of course we got some great things. And were filled with all kinds of crafty ideas to impliment when we got home. (Stop back later tomorrow to see one of the projects we did.)

Here is what I bought at the fair - and then later at one of our favorite country shops.

This candle smells AMAZING!! I spent more than I wanted to on it but I love candles and the mattress ticking fabric holding the tag on really got to me.

My sister Jenn and I love pineapples. This little guy was $2.50. I knew he wanted to come home with me.

This guy was one of my favorite purchases of the day. Olde Frosty. He was sitting next to a larger snowman named "Parson Brown". I'm hoping to put him on my entrance way table this winter. Did you see that he has a bird's nest on him?

I love weather vanes. They are quirky and so wonderful. I have a whopping one in my collection but with this horse vane, I now have two. I'm dying to get one with a whale as the topper. This came from my favorite country shop - I've been wanting to buy him for a couple years now.

Love love love this candle! It was less than $5. I just couldn't believe it. I can't wait to get him home. You know how I love stars!

As I mention above, stop back tomorrow to see one of the crafts that my sisters and I did. It's an easy fall one so I'm sure you'll like it. Hope everyone has a great afternoon!

Sounds like you're having a great time! Can't wait to see the nursery. Halloween was withing the realm of possibility for my oldest's birth, and I remember really not wanting it to be that day because I thought maybe the nurses and staff would be dressed up and I didn't want his entrance into the world to be greeted by a witch or something!

I think your snowman is way cuter than mine... I wish I would have gone back for Parson Brown instead as I think he was a little cheaper. I didn't know you got that pineapple either. Why don't you whip one of those up in your time off for my Christmas gift. :)
