Week 19 Bump-Date

Vernix caseosa, a greasy white substance made of lanugo, oil and dead skin cells (yum) now coats baby's skin, shielding it from the amniotic fluid. (Picture yourself after a nine-month bath, and the need for protection makes sense.) You might actually get to see the vernix at birth, especially if baby is premature.

How Far Along?
I'm now 19 weeks and 3 days along. I skipped week 18 for my updates...oops!

 Maternity Clothes?
I purchased a few new maternity items while home in Pennsylvania. I like Old Navy maternity clothes and wouldn't you just know that our Old Navy here in my town does not have a maternity section. Also, Motherhood Maternity charges about $10 to $20 more for a tee shirt. Sheesh! I have to admit that I LOVE the full panel jeans that I've been slinking myself in lately. I bought a pair of Motherhood jeans and love love love them! Here are a few pieces I've scored at Old Navy. For anyone who cares what I've been wearing. :)

I've been inlove with these white Old Navy jeans. They fit so well and look so good in the summer.
They are literally my favorite thing to wear - though I usually save them for church or going out to some place special -
 like my ultrasound. :)

Tank from Old Navy. I'll probably wear this under a cardigan come the Fall/Winter.

I bought this sweater coat on clearance at Old Navy for $4.97.
On sale on oldnavy.com it's $25. I was quiet pleased!

Sleep?
Sleeping has become more difficult lately. Perhaps it's the heat but I just can't seem to get comfortable lately. I've been using about 4 pillows to prop myself up. My hubby joked the other night that our queen sized bed was getting way to small for me, him, the baby and my pillows.

 Cravings?
I still want those McDonalds chicken sandwhiches - but after having a couple, I've decided that that craving will be one I don't indulge anymore. None of the sandwhiches have ever lived up to my craving hype.

 Aversions?
None. But I've been having a really hard time drinking my milk lately. I bought some chocolate syrup to help get it down. But I'm soooo over my milk intake.

 Best Moment Of The Week?
Well, technically it was last week - but the joy carries over. The best moment was seeing the baby on the ultrasound. It was incredibly exciting to see our child. I have all 8 sonogram photos hanging on the fridge and I smile everytime I see them.

 Movement?
I think so. Nothing so consistent but a few times it's happened I told Shane that I thought I felt the baby moving.

 Gender?
Still a mystery. Maybe this week we will know!!

Labor Signs?
None.

Belly Button In Or Out?
In.

What I Miss
Nothing. I thought it was painting only because I want to get some things done around my house - but really, I'm so happy during this time in my life. So so happy. Everything I  could have missed just doesn't compare.

What I'm Looking Forward To
Our ultrasound on Thursday. Hopefully determining a gender (I'm dying to buy some clothes!) and seeing the baby again. Eeee!! I can't wait!!

 Milestones
I'm now officially 5 months along. CRAZY!

I enjoy your comparison pictures at the top of each post. It's neat to be able to put a size on the precious, God given life inside!

What a wonderful time in your life! It will never be like this again, because if you have another child, you will be too busy with your first to really enjoy the pregnancy.
I love that coat, and what a deal!
