In the meantime, I'm finishing up a few craft projects for Aubrey's little nest. I want to show you a few of the things I've been up to. I apologize in advance for the quality of these photos. I was quickly snapping shots to upload to Facebook and wasn't caring too much about photo quality.
Embellished Burp Cloths
I pinned and sewed the ribbons onto these cloth diapers from Walmart. I'm so excited to use them!
I'm so into giraffe print lately.
Rice Bag
A rice bag was recommended to us at our labor and delivery class. So I made one! Perhaps you've seen these things before but if not, here is the deal. You stick this bag in the microwave for a few minutes (three) and it heats right up. You then place it on sore and achey muscles. I've also learned that you can put it in the freezer for an hour and then you have a nice cold pack. The heat feels wonderful! I wish I had a whole suit made of heated rice!
If you're interested in making one yourself, you must use 100% cotton fabric and 100% cotton thread. Anything else will melt in the microwave. I plan to make one for my dad and brother-n-law for Christmas so perhaps I'll do an indepth tutorial of how I created this thing.
Vera Bradley fabric!! It was only $5 a meter too!

Lucy and I both went 5 days over, so expect to be busy this Saturday!
Best advice? Make plans! Babies love to interrupt them!
We love our rice packs! Actually, we have some rice, but most of them are filled with deer/feed corn. I think it holds the heat longer. We even keep a microwave upstairs near the bedrooms to make it easier to heat them up at bedtime.
Hang in there! These last few days will seem like the longest in your life, but once she's here, it will all be worth it!
you are looking great!
good luck and i hope she comes soon :D
I agree with Jen - maybe tomorrow will be the day .. UNLESS of course things have changed since you wrote this post.
Maybe Canadian Blogging Babies all like to be 5 days late :)
