Uppity Up-dates

Happy Thanksgiving!!

I hope that everyone had one amazing holiday. I hope your pants are just a little too tight now - that's a sign of a good meal. :) I hope that you enjoyed the time with your family and friends. I hope that you are filled with such joy!

We made it back to Canada on Monday night. We're getting back into the swing of things after our vacation. Shane is back going to school. This time it's night school so he won't be home until after 10:30 some nights. Ugh. I find myself getting so bored being at home all day. My one highlight is hoping online to check my favorite blogs and to see what you lovely ladies are up to.

We made an executive decision last night, NOT to go Black Friday shopping. We were all pretty disapointed especially bc we were going to take Shane's sister, Sarah, with us. But, we were just a little to strapped for cash after our vacation so we had to make the grown-up decision to stay home. Gosh I hate having bills. Don't you?

This evening my friend Ashley is coming over. We co-teach a Sunday School class for girls 14-18. We finished up the video series that we were doing so tonight we are going to pow-wow about what we want to teach next. We are hoping to do a Beth Moore series. We'll see! This Sunday, the whole class is heading to Ashley's house for a hot-tub party. Should be lots of fun!

Now for some un-fun news.

My house is a wreck. I'm trying to get it presentable. I'm just being real. Ugh. It looks as though it threw up on itself. I've got neat little piles of books and papers stacked over the dining room table. I've got a desk, speakers, books and junk shoved to one side of our den. It all either needs moved or put away. But that can't get done until I clean up/make room in the craft room where there awaits some of my recent decorating purchases that have no home until the rest of the house is cleaned so I can put them up. The laundry room is littered in clothes that have found their way out of the suitcases and need washed. But my wash has to be timed just right bc the dryer is broken and thus I must take my baskets of washed laundry to my mum-in-laws to dry. So since I won't be heading over to my inlaws tonight, the laundry stays put. It's a sick, sad cycle. And it's frustrating. My den needs a second coat of paint. My trim and doors need done. And I just need to quit complaining and do it. Ugh. Ugh. Ugh. Just keeping it to painfully real. Want to come over and help? I'm sure you don't. :)

But, there is motivation! I want to decorate for Christmas! I'm so so excited to! Today I'll bust my butt to get things neat and tidy. I love a neat and tidy home anyways. I want to kick on the music and get in that festive spirit. This weekend I want to get our decorations going on outside and flood my house with garland, twinkle lights, trees and little santas and snowmen. Gosh, it is the most wonderful time of the year!!

OH! And I almost forgot! I received another award!! It made me so excited! Thanks Genevieve! Genevieve is a great girl who unfortunatly has some awful lung issuses that break my heart for her. She's got such a great attitude and this amazing fire about her. I'm sure you'll love her. Go one, check out her blog. Oh, and she's got this crazy amazing digital art all over her blog that I'm pretty sure she made herself. Crazy! I wish I had that kind of talent!

Hi there! I just stumbled upon your blog accidentally, and I have to tell you, it's such a sweet one! Love your down-to-earth style of writing. It seems so real. I've only just started blogging and am deciding which blogs to follow. Yours will definitely be one of them! GOOD LUCK with building your home :)

Hi there Mandi, Thank you for the award. I have a stupid question, how do you link it to your post? Seriously I am not made for blogging!

Today I went shopping and I can't wait to show you everything I got. I went to Michaels and bought a HUGE stack of christmas cardstock for $17 minus 25% and I bought those ready to make ornaments for $6 minus 25%. I think we are way overdue for a crafting night! I also got alot of christmas shopping done.
Right now Pier 1 is haveing a sale, all of their christmas decor and ornaments are 20% off and I get an extra 25% off so thats 45% off. I bought some tonight and my subtotal was $48 and with all of the discounts the subtotal ended up being $28.65.

And please tell Shane that I am totally fine that we didn't go. Now I get to go spend money on ornaments at work:)

Well I plan on going to the bulk barn tonight and doing some baking.

Happy Thanksgiving to you! And I am pouting over your Cricut deal. I'm not really even sure what that thingy is, but I know it makes beautious projects and I am jealous of anyone that has one. Can I come up and try it out???

Hey girlfriend! I am finally getting around to updating my blog and catching up w/what you've been doing lately. I'm so glad you had a good time on your vacation...what a blessing.

I'm not even kidding, every time I read your blog I find something else we have in common. I also teach the high school girls class at my church. I don't co-teach so I'm a tad jealous of you for that, but I won't hold it against you! ;) We are currently doing a study on Hannah using the book Hannah's One Wish. It's prety good, but my girls are terrible about doing anything outside of class. What are you girls doing now?

Thank you so much for the rockin' blog awards! I'm so honored! I had so much fun nominating others. I nominated Beth Moore's daughter, Amanda, for the Superior Scribbler Award. AND she commented on my blog about it! I about died when I saw that she'd been to my blog! Have you done any Beth Moore studies? They're amazing! We're going to be starting her newest study, Eshter, in January.

Have you played much w/your Cricut? I can't wait to see your amazing creations!

Take care sister!

Oh my gosh, I'm such a brat. I haven't thanked you for this yet?! THANK YOU, friend. You are always so sweet to me, and you say overly kind words that I just don't deserve! Hope things are going better for you and you picked up all the "vomit" around your house. Don't worry. We all know the feeling! :)

Mandi, I was never able to find the AC Moore flyer, but I got a Cricut Black Friday at Walmart for $199. Not near the deal you got, but I was just happy to get one.

I can not tell you how much I appreciate the blog award. It is the first one I have ever gotten and it really means so much to me.

The best thing about this whole blogging thing is the special people I have gotten to know. You top that list. Thanks for being so special and let me know what you are doing with that Cricut!
