This Past Weekend

Sorry I have been so absent from blogging. Are you tired of me saying that yet? I know I am! This time I had a good excuse. I went home to Pennsylvania to visit my family. My youngest sister, Julie, was graduating from nursing school. We were all so incredibly proud of her as this hasn't been the easiest thing she's ever done. She is awaiting news to see if she will get a job in a hospital near her home. Praying a special prayer that she makes it in.

So the weekend was spent laughing and having such a great time. When my family is together it is nonstop laughs. My mom describes our family as like the one in "While You Were Sleeping." I like that description very much.

On Saturday, we went to a family carnival at my sister's college. Everything was totally free...we got tee shirts, good food, candy, cotton candy and there were tons and tons of games. Well, there was also a bingo tent. My family and I LOVE bingo so we parked ourselves there and cleaned up. My mom won a free pizza gift certificate, McDonalds gift certificates. My sister, Jenn, won two gift cards to Walmart and I won one as well. I think the people were glad we finally left because we just kept winning! At one point, mom said "I just need I-21. She's going to call it in a second and then we can go." And about two calls later, I-21 was called. And needless to say, mom won.

The Penny Candy Table....FREE Penny Candy that is.

My neice, Natalie, enjoying a ring pop.

Cleaning up at Bingo.

My mom tried a corndog/pogo for the first time. She wasn't too crazy about it.

My sisters - Jenn and Julie.

Needless to say, while at home....I did some shopping.

Our vehicle was PACKED to the hilt upon our return home.

And now my house looks like it threw up on itself.

There is paint to do paint my living room, den and trim with.

There is a van seat in my kitchen.

A suitcase in the living room.

See this bag? Stuffed with fabric. So many projects to come! Stay tuned!!
I have a lot to do tomorrow. And I am excited.

And really, I am.

Welcome home, sweet girl! I'm glad to hear that you had a great time with your family. Those pictures look like our house after a weekend away. We tend to come in, drop everything and leave it there for a day or two until I just can't stand it anymore. I am so excited to see the projects that are coming with that new fabric!

I'm sure your mom would have liked the corn dogs much more had she done a 3-2 ratio of ketchup/mustard and dipped her corn dog in it.. really, its grand.
Congrats to your sister and YAY for family visiting time.
I love pictures of houses after they have thrown up. Thanks!

ps: I'm very happy to know that I am not the only one who dumps everythting back into the house and steps around the mess for a few days until I'm settled in and can deal with it :)

It was great having you home. We had so much fun with you and Shane. Hopefully you can come back or we can come up before the summer is over.

Your trip home sounds a lot like mine. Family time laughing it up, and of course lots of shopping. The worst part is always the unpacking. Look at your mess and multiply it by 3. That will be the mess I am facing Monday when I get home. Have a great weekend. Can't wait to see all the projects you accomplish!

OH WHAT FUN you must have had with your family, and congrats to Julie! We had a graduation weekend too, and lots of family fun! I love this blog entry...I can identify with most of what you posted (including the luggage in the living room), except we did not play bingo :>)...but that would have been fun too! Have a wonderful weekend!
