A Little Cupboard

I've been on the hunt for armoires. Armoires galore.

My plans for them?

I'd like to have one for linens. Even though I have a linen closet.
I'd love a huge one to house my tiny 13 inch tv.
I'd like to put all of my craft supplies behind the closed doors of a handsome beauty.
I'd put one in my dining room and would decorate it with my white dishes.

I mean, quiet frankly, I'd put one in every room.

For now, I was able top purchase this cupboard on Kijiji. It's the inexpensive version of an armoire. It measures a bit less than five feet tall with a depth of 12 inches. I scooped it up for $40. My darling husband picked it up for me while I was away visiting my family

Don't be fooled, it has three shelves.

My plan was to paint this sucker. And paint I did. Shoulda sanded it. Shoulda primed it. Shoulda, coulda, woulda. Didn't. Just kept slapping on white paint. Took far longer than it should have, but finally I loved the results.

It's gracing our bedroom right now. We threw out our old dresser with the bottom drawer that rarely opens. (I'm in the throws of redoing our bedroom. More photos to come soon!) I decided to let Shane use the cupboard because I felt his clothes would fit inside much better.

New crystal knobs purchased for $1 each.

My new weather vane.

I love these sea grass baskets. Three graduated sizes cost just $10 when they are onsale at Canadian Tire (a big box manly store). I have them literally all over my house.

Holding socks.

What furniture finds are you on the hunt for?

It looks fabulous! I should have sanded something the other day and didn't- oh well. Live and learn right? (Except I seem to keep repeating the same mistakes over again!)

I'm always on the lookout for chairs, and right now, plant stands. :)

Some of us have to do it the hard way! The results are BEAUTIFUL though. I love it now.

I love wandering thru your house and seeing your creative side with things! Thank you for sharing your ideas...and as for sanding ~ it gets done so much faster without that extra step...primitive you know :>)!! Have a great week!

WOW....LOVE IT! And $40.00, are you serious????? What a deal!!! I'm like you, I hardly sand and prime. Don't you just get to excited to start the project, and when you're up to your eyeballs in paint you think...should of sanded.

Love it all.

First, love the cupboard. You did a great job painting it and styling it. I have more furniture than I can fit in my little house. I love furniture sooooo much. When I get my upstairs finished...there will be a place for more furniture..(headboards right now)

Oh I love that cupboard. I would love something like that but I just don't have a space in my house right now.

Very nice, I love the makeover!

I'd love a new dining set. Doesn't have to be the right color/finish because I can redo that, but I'm looking for a certain style.

I love it all! It looks great and your weather vane is gorgeous. I've been on the lookout for a cute one for my own bedroom. I never prime or sand. I just paint too. I'm so impatient!

Hey, do they still give Canadian Tire money?

Looks beautiful now! Can't believe you found those pretty knobs for just a buck!

I have actually been looking for a similar piece of furniture. And a couch table, and an end table. I know, I ask for a lot. ;)
