Spring Cleaning and A Download

Spring Cleaning began a little bit ago around this house. I've been so anxious to 'sweep the winter away'. Last winter, was incredibly brutal for us - it seemed that every few days our front door lock froze shut and we were never without WD40 to thaw it so we could get into our home. I remember many days where the ice was so thick on our windshields that it was just a nightmare to even go anywhere. We basically holed up with the covers over our heads and prayed for spring. Let's just say that May 31st (!!) of last year, we were still having things like major hail storms that looked like snow.

But luckily, this past winter has been wonderful. It was anything but brutal. And infact, this is the earliest spring to date in our area!

With all of that, I'm ready for Spring! So that means, SPRING CLEANING!

It's been going on for a few days around here and we are getting quiet a bit accomplished. It feels so great! I have a bit of a big motivation to get most of it done too - I'm hosting a Pampered Chef party next Friday so my goal is to get most all of the cleaning done so that come party time, my home sparkles. I'll be fighting the ebb and flow of the spring mud as our dogs and my hubby work and frolic out side - dogs frolicking - hubby working - so no one's confused. :)

Here is what we've done so far:

  • Washed all bedding
  • Washed couch throw pillows
  • Cleaned and disinfected kitchen counters and backsplash
  • Cleaned everything on kitchen counters
  • Dusted and got rid of any cobwebs in kitchen
  • Moved fridge and cleaned behind it
  • Mopped kitchen, entranceway, dining room, living room and hallways
  • Washed baseboards and walls in above areas

So, there is so much more to do! I think today I'm tackeling the windows, shinying my kitchen sink Fly Lady style, and movving furniture and sweeping and mopping behind it. I'm sure more will come along with it. Hubby is tackeling the outside for us.

I've created a download of my Spring Cleaning Checklist. I hope it works for you just as much as it has for me. I have no idea why it turned out so "pinky" but I had zero time to fix it so pinky it shall remaind. To download, just following this link: Spring Cleaning.

Happy Cleaning, ya'll!

And P.S.  I've been so inpsired by Bonnie from House of Grace with her Spring Cleaning Checklist. Go check out her blog for her checklist - I may have missed some things! And check out her posts for some definate inspiration!

I'm hooking up with Fingerprints On The Fridge's Feature Yourself Friday.
