A Breath of New Life

In honor of all things spring, (though it doesn't remotely look like it outdoors), I plan on "rebirthing" my blog. I have missed chronicling my days and sharing what is going on in my Northern Ontario world. So, in honor of spring, I shall attempt to start blogging again. Recently I have enjoyed reading a few blogs - mainly on typepad - and they have inspiried me to blog on.

I have been wanting to get craftier. So much more so. Finally, we are setteling down after the wedding - what with moving to Canada, purchasing and setting up a home, and adjusting to a whole new role as a wife, we truly are getting in to the swing of things. In light of all of that, I have desperatly wanted to get my hands dirty in some glue and pretty papers. My recent projects include my key ring (patterend paper hears sandwiched between Heidi Swapp's ghost shapes, eyelets, a flower ghost shape and some ribbons) and a door hanger that makes me smile each time as I walk by it. I have the paper and wooden frame to make a welcome sign. The layout is complete in my head but need to get the w-e-l-c-o-m-e letters cut out for it. The easiest route consists of heading to the scrapbook store so that they can use their Cuttle machine to do it for me. After that, I really want to get some wood to make some signs. I have a bunch of cute phrases compiled - now I just need to paint. Here are some:
- Save room for cake
- Laugh
- Twinkle, twinkle little star. (For a future babies room)
- Mr. and Mrs.
- Frosty's Snowflake Cafe - Hats, Boots and Mittens Required
- Welcome To Our Home - May peace be wiht you while you stay and joy with with you
on your way.
- God is, and all is well.
- Home is where your dog is. (For DH)

I'm busy planning out the decor of our home as well. The kitchen is fabulous and complete - for now. But the rest of our house is nowhere near where I want it to be. We are soon to be purchasing the rest of the tanish brown Benjamin Moore paint we need for the second coat of our Roger Raglin room (DH's room inspiried by his favorite hunting man, Roger Raglin.) I'm anxious to add our country, primitive and outdoorsy decorations to this room. It will be mainly DH's room decorated by moi. :) That light brown paint will continue into the dining room and down into the hallways. I can't wait for that to be done! I feel as though I cannot decorate until the painting is done. Grr...and I hate to paint. I'll share my plans for our living room in a later post.

I'm also wanting to design wedding invitations, shower invitations, wedding programs and other such things, placecards, greeting cards and such. Do you know anyone who is looking for any of these things? Send them my way! Also, am wanting to bake much much more. Trying to get into cupcakes. I love love love cupcakes. The name is so adorable. The thought of them is making my mouth water. Yum-o!! I'm going to try to make some each week and get into the habit of becoming a great baker and cook. Ambitious?? Yes! Doable, we'll see!! Love you all!
