A Bit of Organization

I have a husband who has a lot of...well...stuff. Hunting stuff. Dog parephanilia. There are leashes and brushes, bullets and earplugs. The seemingly endless amount of stuff can quickly take over my home until I came up with a solution.

We have an awkward, out of the way closet on the backside of our house right by our bedroom. It is the type of closet that would be appropriate for a front entryway. So why is it sooo far away? Who knows. So I decided to put it to some use.

Inside I stashed an old bookcase. I bought a few baskets at the dollar store and placed all of the loose hunting and dog supplies in the baskets. I used some upholstery tacks and taked some fabric to cover the cluttered mess so that no matter if my sweet hubby put his supplies away or not, all I have to see is that fabric. Fabric that I now see needs to be ironed and hung a wee bit better - but for a closet that is out of the way, it works. (But you bet your boots I'll soon be ironing it!)

Scents and Bullets.

Dummies.

Brushes and grooming tools. We also keep doggie medical supplies and their toothbrushes in there. Yes, he brushes their toofers.

I still need to add some labels for each basket.

Great Idea's!! I really love them. You are in the boat I'm in. My husband is a collector and doesn't throw anything away. You've come up with great idea's and a great use of space. I love to label everything. I wish I had a p-touch label maker to mark everything. You've done a great job! keep up the great work!!

So glad you are safe and sound, working on your organizing as well. Your shelves look great! Husbands need their own area for their man business...
Happy Sunday.

Glad you made it home. The closet looks great.
Did you just watch DH? It just went off and it was a really good episode. Chat more about it later!

I have a very similar dilemma with my husband's hunting stuff too - and with the new house I definitely want to find a creative and nice way to put it so I don't have to see it and get frustrated looking at it all the time! Great tip!

Love the closet organization. I have two closets in my room (and only one of me) and I need to figure out how to organize the one as I've been throwing a few things in there (nothing bad, just a little disorganized).

Great idea! I think the organization bug has been going around! I just can't seem to get enough of it. We spent all of last weekend working on our kitchen and laundry room!
